      Testing the Return Portal

      Once you have your ReturnGO account set up, you can test out your return portal and see how it looks for your customers. 

      Testing the Return Portal 

      There are two ways to test the return portal: 

      1. Preview Mode

      In preview mode, you will be able to see what the return portal looks like without actually processing a return. 

      In this mode, no RMAs will be generated, no emails will be triggered, etc. 

      Use preview mode to test the different possible resolutions and selections on your return portal.

      You can use a real order from your store and play with the settings to see what happens without any side effects.

      Note: The preview mode only works for orders that don’t have an existing RMA. 

      To access preview mode: 

      1. Go to your Home page. 
      2. Click on the PREVIEW MODE button.

      A tab will open in your browser and show your return portal with a red banner to remind you that you are in preview mode.

      2. Live Portal via Test Order


      To test the live portal through a test order: 

      1. Create a test order in your eCommerce store. 
      2. Ensure that the order has already been marked as Fulfilled.
      3. Go to your return portal as if you were a customer, and try to return it. 
      4. Fulfilled orders will test your enabled refund and exchange resolutions. 
      5. Unfulfilled orders can also be tested for Cancel Order resolutions. 
      6. If Cancel Order is not in use or disabled, it will show how such orders will behave in the return portal. If enabled, it will let you test this scenario. 

      To access your live return portal: 

      1. Go to your Home page. 
      2. Click on the copy icon next to your portal URL.

      Test Order vs Real Order 

      When a test order is used on the live portal, it will enable you to simulate the full flow of the return portal from the customer’s point of view including receiving RMA status updates via email notifications. 

      While using a real order in preview mode will save you the hassle of creating a test order, it will not give you the same whole experience since no actual actions are executed in this mode. For example, you won’t be able to preview the email notifications that come with submitting a request.
