Configuring 3PL/WMS per Return Method
Last Updated: May 20, 2026
When using a Warehouse Management System (WMS) or Third-Party Logistics (3PL) service integration, you need to configure each return method to notify the relevant WMS/3PL about incoming returns.
Connecting Your WMS/3PL
Before configuring your return methods, make sure you've successfully connected your WMS/3PL service/s to ReturnGO.
To do this:
-
Go to Settings > Integrations.
-
Select the relevant provider from the dropdown
-
Click on the green checkmark.

-
Enter your credentials.
-
Click CONNECT.
If you have connections to multiple accounts of a WMS/3PL provider, it’s recommended to rename the different connections so you can easily identify which one to select for each return method.
To change the name of a connection:
-
Go to Settings > Integrations.
-
In the Connection Name field, enter the name you want to use.
-
Click on the save icon to save your changes.

Configuring 3PL/WMS per Return Method
Configure your return methods to update the appropriate WMS/3PL for each return method, so that the relevant warehouse will be notified when an item is on its way back and can prepare and process it accordingly.
Note: This setting can be configured for all return method types except No shipment required.
To configure your 3PL/WMS per return method:
-
Go to Settings > Return Methods.
-
Select the return method you want to configure.

-
Open the Return Address and Restocking Location section.
-
Set whether to update the WMS/3PL for this return method.
- The default is Do not update.
- If you have multiple connections, choose which one you want to update for returns that use this return method.
