How it Works

Returning items with InPost UK involves the following steps:

  1. The customer submits a return request through the portal.
  2. When selecting the InPost UK return method, the customer sees the locations nearest to them, based on the ZIP code from the original order.
  3. Once the RMA is approved, the customer receives the InPost shipping instructions and drop-off location information, along with a QR code (with a PIN number in case the QR code doesn't work).
  4. The customer goes to an InPost locker, scans the QR code, and places the return items in the locker.
  5. Once the package is dropped off in the locker, the RMA is marked as In Transit and the refund/exchange is automatically issued.
  6. All return packages go to a centralized hub for consolidation and inspection.
  7. From the hub, the items are sent to your warehouse.

Limitations

  • Each locker compartment can hold a maximum weight of 15kg.
  • When an InPost UK return method is selected, the exchange/refund will be automatic, and executed immediately when the shipment is marked In transit. This setting can not be customized.

Setup Issues

Make sure your API credentials are accurate.

  • There should be no extra spaces before or after each API entry.
  • Make sure you are using live or production API credentials, and not dev or test APIs.
  • Try to re-generate a new API key and reconnect.
  • If a carrier or service level is not available, contact your shipping service support team to verify which return services are available.
