Development stores provide a testing environment for users to explore and test their store before going live. This is relevant primarily for store owners and developers who want to install the ReturnGO app and try it out on a dev store before enabling it on their live store.
Requirements
To test ReturnGO on a development store, you will need:
- A Shopify development store
For development stores on eCommerce platforms other than Shopify, contact your ReturnGO onboarding manager for setup assistance.
Features
ReturnGO on development stores includes the most basic features by default, with most features requiring activation by ReturnGO.
Development stores have the following limitations on ReturnGO:
- No subscription plan or billing
- Certain features may need to be requested through support
Upon installing, development stores do not have the following features by default:
- All integrations
- All beta features
- The option to add add-ons
- Product exchanges
- Item validation
- Item reservation
- Auto-exchange
- Auto-refund
- Auto-mark as done
- Cancel inactive RMAs
- Buy X, Get Y (BxGy)
- Instant exchanges

Installing ReturnGO on Development Stores
If you are using a development store on Shopify, you can install ReturnGO just like any other app.
To install ReturnGO on your development store:
1. Install the ReturnGO app:
- Go to the Shopify app store and search for ReturnGO.
- Install the RETURNGO RETURNS & EXCHANGES app.
2. Set Up the Return Portal:
- Once installed, configure your settings and connect the return portal on your development store.
3. Test ReturnGO Features:
- After setting up, test ReturnGO features, such as initiating a return and processing it, to ensure everything is functioning correctly.
